Founded in 2022, Nystrom Forest is led by Corey Nystrom and his 10 years of experience in the industry. We proudly serve a broad range of clients across Windham County. Our mission is to bring professional and sustainable forestry and timber harvesting practices to all of our clients, promoting healthy forests for the future of Southern Vermont.

Consulting Forestry:
Nystrom Forest provides quality consulting forestry services. Typically, this involves the creation and update of forest management plans to meet the Vermont Use Value Appraisal program standards, when applicable. Other services include: property boundary maintenance, property and forest stand mapping, and comprehensive land management consulting.
Timber Harvesting and Tree Work:
Nystrom Forest offers hand-felling timber harvesting services for small to medium scale logging operations and tree work. We ensure the needs of our clients and meet Best Management Practice Standards through our professional and hands-on approach.
Trail
Building and Excavating:
We offer trail work to clients looking for improved access to their property. The construction and maintenance of trails are common requests from our clients, and we are happy to work with landowners to make this happen. Whether it's for hiking/biking, ATV/snowmobile, or logging access Nystrom Forest can create and maintain quality trails for your property. We also offer excavating services to clients for a wide variety of projects.
Our Work:
Nystrom Forest assists in the management of thousands of acres per year. Most of this acreage falls into the State of Vermont's Use Value Appraisal Program.
To be enrolled in Vermont's UVA program a property must have 25 acres of forestland and needs an accompanying forest management plan (FMP) that must be updated every 10 years. ​
We provide expert forestry services to our clients looking to enroll in the program or have their plan updated. This typically includes an inventory and assesment of your forestland, a map of your property and its forest boundaries, property boundary maintenance, and a schedule of planned activities.

Good forestry and good logging go hand in hand, and it is impossible to have one without the other. That's why we offer both services to our clients, ensuring we can assist them regardless of what stage in the process they might be at.
When we conduct a timber harvest on a property, we take the utmost care to make sure your soil, water, and timber resources are protected for the future of the site. We do all this while working efficiently to maximize both landowner value and ecological value.
